Following their debut performance at The Venue Jazz Club, Mundo Pequeno had the honour of playing with one of their favourite musicians; Brazillian guitarist José Neto.
Jose is the guitarist of choice for one of Mundo's biggest influences, Airto Moreira and Flora Purim. He is also the current guitarist in British rock legend Steve Winwood's band. It was a memorable night for all concerned and an experience the band hope to repeat at some point in the future.
Mundo Pequeno are currently at work in the studio recording a mini album which will be available for download from the site upon completion. They will be announcing further gigs soon. Watch this space...
Mixing the Latin grooves of South America and the rhythms of Africa with a hefty dose of jazz harmony, Mundo Pequeno promise an exciting evening not to be missed. Material is a mix of original compositions and tunes from the likes of Airto and Flora's Fourth World and Brazilian singer/songwriter Joyce. Featuring Bex on vocals, Rich Michael on guitar, Chads on keys, Peter Čabara on bass and Paul Arthurs on drums.
