Mundo Pequeno - Jazz and the world

These five musicians were brought together by a shared passion for Jazz as well as many different global styles. The sound they produce is a fusion of genres from the hot African sun to the Brazilian carnival to the Turkish Kasbah. This is all blended together seamlessly with a liberal helping of contemporary Jazz harmony. The material is largely self penned with the addition of a few carefully selected pieces from other artists.

They share a belief that music from around the world has now reached the point where we are all speaking one musical language. They mirror this in their lyrics which are written in Spanish, Portuguese, French, English and even Swahili. Music has the power to break down the language barrier.

In stark contrast to the global events of recent years, the central message of Mundo Pequeno's songs is "together we are stronger and happier".
